Western Acres, Wisconsin is home to an amazing five miles of swampland, backwaters, natural waterfalls, and lakes. There are two lakefront parks in Western Acres, and each has its own uniqueness. The East Lake Park, owned by Friends of the East Lake Park is located just northwest of the Convention Center at Granger.
The only amusement center in the center, the National Cycle Trail begins just north of the convention center. It is a beautiful scenic route with a number of short trails and several bridges. Local wildlife can be seen along the trail, including dolphins, ducks, and herons. There are trails that are wheelchair accessible.
The surrounding region has many qualities of recreational beauty. It is one of the most scenic areas of Wisconsin, but is also home to over one hundred kinds of agriculture. Many farms can be found in the area, and as a result many farms are situated near the East Lake Park. There are also many camping sites and rental facilities. It is in fact home to the headquarters of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the other departments of Parks and Recreation.
